About the Client
Mega Taxi operates in the Mobility & Transport sector based in India. They approached Appworks Technologies looking for a reliable long-term engineering partner with deep expertise in their domain.
The Challenge
Mega Taxi required a robust, scalable mobility platform supporting passengers (online ride booking), drivers (registration and management), and corporate clients (business accounts). They needed to transition from fragmented offline phone bookings into a modern system supporting real-time tracking, multiple vehicle categories (Sedan, SUV, Luxury), and cashless payments, alongside a white-label version for other regional operators.
Our Approach
We built a multi-tenant ride-hailing engine using NestJS and Node.js with a scalable MongoDB/Redis database schema. We developed custom Android and iOS apps using React Native, incorporating PostGIS geospatial queries for real-time ride matching and live vehicle tracking. The dashboard was equipped to handle both passenger dispatch and corporate fleet account billing.
